About Korfball
Korfball is a fun, safe, and active team sport where children can develop at their own pace. Boys and girls play together in mixed teams, learning cooperation, respect, and fair play from an early age.
Korfball has clear and child-friendly rules that keep the game safe and enjoyable:
- A team consists of girls and boys playing together
- You cannot run with the ball — passing and teamwork are key
- The ball may not be taken from an opponent’s hands
- Physical contact is not allowed
- Players defend one-on-one, encouraging fairness and skill
- After every two goals, players change roles (attacking and defending), so everyone learns all parts of the game
- The goal is to score by throwing the ball through the korf (basket)
Because strength and physical contact do not decide the game, korfball is suitable for all children, regardless of size or experience.Text to follow soon. But know that you are welcome at our club.

At Haagsche Korfbal Club ALO, culture is more than sport.

Founded in 1906, ALO is the oldest independent korfball club in the world. That long history is something we are proud of, but our culture is very much alive today: open, welcoming, social, and built by our members.
A club for everyone
ALO is “de club waar iedereen telt” — the club where everyone counts.
Whether you are:
- a young child taking your first steps in sport,
- a competitive player,
- a recreational athlete,
- a volunteer, parent, or supporter,
you are welcome at ALO. We offer korfball for all ages and levels, from our youngest members in the KangoeroeKlup to senior and recreational teams. New members can experience the club with free trial trainings, because feeling at home matters.
